H1N1

So we waited for almost 2 hours at the Health Department today to get the girls the H1N1 vaccine. I debated whether or not to get it for them, but finally decided that I believe in vaccinations, and they are too young to get really, really sick. Luckily we were one of the last people to arrive for this morning's clinic. Apparently people were lined up starting at 5:30am! That's just crazy. We got there at 10:25 and were out by 12:15. Not too bad. And they had PBS on, so between the bag of toys and books I brought and Barney we were good. And we sanitized our hands constantly. And the organist from our church was there, so we chatted and hung out for the last 45 minutes together.

My new germ worry? The communal pen they always have for you to sign your checkout receipts with. Never thought about that before!

Rilla decided she wanted pizza for lunch so David joined us at Stevi B's. That was a lot of fun! She ate a ton too. However they had a swarm of bees flying around the front door. Kind of wierd.

Well, I still have to put away the rest of the groceries. I forgot to bring in my reuseable bags, so now I have 15 plastic ones again. ugh. I get so tired of them! :)

Margaret is playing happily on the floor by herself. Yeah! She got 3/4 of the way up into a stand on her own last night. It's coming! Rilla's speech is becoming so clear; it's amazing. And she's very good at helping you to understand her as well. That's even better.

First post

So, I've been thinking about starting a blog for forever, and things I would put on it. So today, I'm doing it!

I called it how to eat a banana, because Rilla asked to watch, "Elmo's World (lalalala) Ba-nanas!" this morning. It seemed fitting.

Margaret is down for a morning nap after getting up at 6:30 this morning. Thank you Congress for daylight savings time. I really appreciate waking up an hour earlier.

And, I've discovered the joy of washing dishes by hand as soon as you use them because our 2y old dishwasher has a broken part. Whoo-hoo! Since I broke down and just washed the sinkfull and dishwasher-full by hand, my kitchen has been remotely clean now. Other new clean areas...the garage is halfway there! David spent some time getting it organzied. Half of it is awesome! And I have a newspaper recycling box and a glossy paper box. No more piles!

I am so grateful for the cooler temps that look like they're going to stick around now. Thanks God! Our adventure for the day is to get the double jogging stroller into my car and go walk at the river. I don't have to go to work til late this afternoon because my babysitter is out of town. I'm so excited about my extra 4 hours at home.

That's it for now. Just a small public journal entry.

Thanks!
Marlo
